Privacy Policy
Plain-English explanation of what we collect when you ask us for a rug-cleaning quote, what we do with it, and how to get it deleted.

This policy applies to BC Rug Care(“BC Rug Care,” “we,” “us”), operating at https://bcrugcare.ca. We are subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) as a Canadian business and BC’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) as a British Columbia organization.
1. What we collect
We collect personal information only when you give it to us. That happens in two places:
- Quote requests. Name, email, phone, city, service of interest, optional rug details (size, fibre, age, condition), and any notes you choose to share. Fields are listed up-front on the quote form.
- Contact messages. Name, email, and the message you write.
Two technical items are also captured server-side, automatically:
- IP address.Used for rate limiting only — we don’t look at them, log them, or profile them.
- Anti-spam token. Cloudflare Turnstile issues a one-time challenge token we verify on the server. No browsing or behavioural data is included.
We do notuse cookies for advertising, marketing pixels, or third-party analytics. The only telemetry on this site is Vercel’s first-party performance data, which is anonymous (no cookies, no IDs).
2. How we use it
- To reply to your quote request or message.
- To schedule and complete the rug or carpet care work you ask us for.
- To follow up after the work, on rare occasion, to make sure you’re happy.
That’s it. We don’t use it for anything else.
3. Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it for marketing. We do use a small number of technical service providers who process your information on our behalf:
- Resend— transactional email delivery (sends your quote confirmation and routes your message to our inbox).
- Cloudflare— Turnstile bot protection (issues + verifies the anti-spam challenge).
- Upstash— Redis cache used to rate-limit form submissions by IP.
- Vercel— web hosting and edge delivery.
Each of these is a US-headquartered company. Personal information may be processed outside Canada, which means it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions. We’ve chosen providers with strong reputations for data protection.
4. How long we keep it
- Quote requests and contact messages: kept in our inbox for 90 days after we reply, then deleted unless you become an ongoing customer.
- Work-order records for completed jobs: kept for 7 years (Canadian small-business record retention standard).
- IP addresses used for rate limiting: cached for 10 minutes per the rate-limit window, then automatically expire.
5. Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask us what information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct it.
- Ask us to delete it (subject to legal record-keeping requirements).
- Withdraw consent at any time.
Send any of these requests to info@bcrugcare.ca. We aim to respond within 14 days.
6. Children
Our services aren’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
7. Updates to this policy
If we change anything material, we’ll update the date at the top and, where the change affects you, send a note to your last-known email address.
